Aqua Park Shinagawa
Aqua Park Shinagawa is a public aquarium inside the Shinagawa Prince Hotel in Minato, Tokyo, reachable from Shinagawa Station. The building has two floors: the first houses attractions such as Magical Ground, Coral Café Bar, Jellyfish Rumble and Stellar Ball; the upper floor has The Stadium, Little Paradise, Wonder Tube, Life Museum, Aqua Jungle, Wild Street, Friendly Square and Aqua Shop Luce. A highlight is Wonder Tube, a 20-metre vaulted tunnel home to around 15 species of ray, including mantas, and the only aquarium in the world exhibiting dwarf sawfish. There is also an experience corner where visitors can feed krill to the mantas. At The Stadium, seating 1,350, shows feature Pacific white-sided dolphins, bottlenose dolphins and false killer whales, using technology such as water curtains and projection mapping. Wild Street displays penguins, sea turtles and fur seals, while Friendly Square, a small open-air arena, is home to otters and sea lions. The aquarium receives more than 1.5 million visitors a year and in 2019 was the fourth most-visited public aquarium in Japan, according to the JAZA annual report.
