Marseille Opera
CultureVisit: ~60 min
Marseille's municipal opera house, on Rue Molière, next to the Vieux-Port. The current Art Deco building was designed by Gaston Castel and completed in 1924 after the fire of 1919 that destroyed the 18th-century theatre. It preserves the Ionic colonnade of the façade of the 18th-century theatre. It hosts opera, ballet and concerts, and is home to the Marseille ballet.
