Monumental Bullring of Barcelona
La Monumental is a large bullring in Barcelona's Eixample, at the junction of Gran Via and Carrer de Marina. Its current façade, with Neo-Mudéjar and Byzantine influence, surrounds an enclosure with 26 rows of stands, boxes and an upper tier, with a capacity of nearly 20,000 seats. Inside is the Barcelona Bullfighting Museum, with bullfighters' costumes, bulls' heads and historical documents. The building was the last active bullring in Catalonia and, after bullfighting ended, it has been used for concerts, sports events and circus shows; in its musical decades it hosted performances such as The Beatles in 1965 or The Rolling Stones in 1976.
