The Jan Hus Memorial stands in the centre of Old Town Square in Prague, where visitors can see a large sculpture depicting Jan Hus standing and looking towards the Church of Our Lady before Týn, accompanied by Hussite warriors and figures symbolising the Czech people exiled after the Protestant defeat at the Battle of White Mountain. The monument includes inscriptions taken from Hus's texts and was designed by Ladislav Šaloun, funded solely by public donations and unveiled in 1915 to mark the 500th anniversary of the reformer's death.
