Old Port of Marseille
The Vieux-Port occupies a rocky inlet that has been Marseille's natural harbour since Antiquity and is now a large pedestrian plaza at the end of the Canebière. A local fish market is set up on its quays and it works as a marina and boat-excursion terminal. The small historic ferry crosses the port from one side to the other, covering 206 metres. Around it are the Abbey of Saint-Victor, the Sainte-Marie Lighthouse, the town hall, the Museum of Roman Docks and the MUCEM.
