Gärten der Welt
Gärten der Welt (Gardens of the World) is a public park of more than 100 hectares in Marzahn, Berlin, bringing together eleven themed gardens and nine international garden cabinets. In a single day, visitors can explore Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Balinese, Italian, Oriental-Islamic, Christian, Jewish and English gardens, among others, with plants and architecture from different continents. The park is home to the Balinese Hindu temple Pura Tri Hita Karana, one of the few of its kind outside Indonesia, and offers a 1.5 km cable car (the IGA-Seilbahn) that crosses the park and connects with Kienberg (Gärten der Welt) underground station. It also has a maze (Irrgarten), several playgrounds, a children's water park based on Erich Kästner's 'The 35th of May', and dining options including restaurants, a café in the Japanese garden and tea in the Chinese garden. The park hosted the IGA 2017 garden show and has won landscape architecture awards, such as the 2026 Berlin-Brandenburg Landscape Architecture Prize for the Jewish Garden.
