The GRIPS Theater occupies a building integrated into Hansaplatz U-Bahn station, in the Hansaviertel neighbourhood, and its entrance is decorated with a mosaic of caricatures by Rainer Hachfeld. The auditorium has a non-raised stage surrounded by benches, so the audience can sit on all four sides and front-row spectators are at the same level as the actors. Its programme focuses on humorous and musical plays written for children and young people, including Linie 1, Café Mitte and an adaptation of Aldous Huxley's Brave New World.
