Benalmádena Marina, known as Puerto Marina, is a harbour opened in 1979 and reopened under its current name in 1982. It stands out for its distinctive architecture, which has earned it international recognition. It has 1,108 berths for boats up to 35 metres in length and 5 metres in draught, and offers marina services, security, water, electricity, a petrol station and a boatyard. Its grounds bring together hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, shops, the Club Náutico Marítimo de Benalmádena, an upmarket residential area and an aquarium. At the entrance stands the Torre Bermeja, a Nasrid-era watchtower. It is one of the most iconic and most visited spots on the Costa del Sol, and concentrates much of the town's tourist offering. It can be reached via various intercity bus routes run by the Málaga Metropolitan Transport Consortium.
