Kammerzell House
The Kammerzell House is a medieval civil building of 1427, remodelled in 1467 and 1589, which combines a stone ground floor with half-timbered upper floors. Its façade features richly decorated uprights and sculptures on the beams with sacred and profane scenes. Inside, frescoes by the Alsatian painter Léo Schnug decorate every floor. The building currently houses a traditional brasserie serving choucroutes and other Alsatian dishes. It is located on the Place de la Cathédrale, northwest of Strasbourg Cathedral, and forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage ensemble of the Grande Île.
