Nakanoshima Park
Nakanoshima Park is an 11-hectare green strip on the river sandbar of Nakanoshima, between the Dōjima and Tosabori rivers. Opened in 1891 as Osaka's first public park, it brings together on a single walk a rose garden and several buildings of interest: the Osaka Central Public Hall, of Neo-Renaissance architecture and built in 1918, and the Nakanoshima Prefectural Library, in Neo-Baroque style and established in 1904, both declared Important Cultural Properties of Japan. The ensemble is completed by the Museum of Oriental Ceramics and the seat of Osaka City Hall at the west end.
