Fort Montluc (Montluc Prison National Memorial)
The Montluc Prison National Memorial occupies the former military prison at 4 rue Jeanne Hachette, in the 3rd arrondissement of Lyon. During the German occupation it served as a Gestapo prison, and today it preserves its history with a permanent exhibition on the prison. Jean Moulin and the group arrested with him on 21 June 1943 at Caluire, at the house of Dr Dugoujon, were held here. The route links the site of the 'baraque aux Juifs', the wooden hut where mainly Jewish men over fifteen were held, with the perimeter path leading to the 'mur des fusillés'. Biographies of prisoners are displayed in the cells of the cell block.
