Alameda de Hércules

Spain's oldest public promenade, created in 1574 over a former lagoon. At its southern end stand two Roman columns from the temple on Calle Mármoles, topped with statues of Hercules and Julius Caesar, and at the northern end two more, topped with the lions from the city's coat of arms. Today it is the centre of Seville's nightlife and alternative scene, with terraces and bars.
