CultureVisit: ~30 minFree
Large square in central Warsaw, next to the Saxon Garden. The Saxon Palace once stood here, destroyed in 1944; of it only the colonnade survives, where the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is. In this square John Paul II celebrated Mass on 2 June 1979, during his first visit to Poland as pope.
