First planetarium in the Western Hemisphere, opened in 1930 thanks to a donation from the businessman Max Adler. Its twelve-sided granite building, by Ernest Grunsfeld Jr., stands on a peninsula of the Museum Campus from which you get one of the best views of the city's skyline. It holds an important collection of antique astronomical instruments and offers dome shows.
