Lisbon Cathedral, in the Romanesque style, begun around 1147 after the Christian conquest of the city. Its façade, with two crenellated towers and a large rose window, recalls a fortress. It has undergone Gothic and Baroque alterations and reconstructions after several earthquakes, such as that of 1755. It stands in Alfama, next to the tram 28 stop.
