Gallery of old paintings founded in 1884 by Bishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer, who donated his collection to the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts. It is in the Academy's palace, on Zrinjevac Square, in the Lower Town. It brings together European painting from the 14th to the 19th centuries. In the Academy's atrium is the Baška Tablet, one of the oldest Croatian texts in Glagolitic.
