Zagreb's central square and the city's meeting point, between the Upper Town and the Lower Town. It is dominated by the equestrian statue of Ban Josip Jelačić, the work of Anton Dominik Fernkorn, unveiled in 1866, removed in 1947 and restored in 1990. Trams cross it, and there is the Manduševac fountain and façades from the 19th and 20th centuries around it.
