Building on Chapultepec hill begun in 1785 as a viceregal residence, later a military academy and the residence of Emperor Maximilian and Carlota, and of presidents until 1939. Today it houses the National Museum of History. It preserves decorated halls, gardens, murals and carriages. From its terraces you can see the Paseo de la Reforma and much of the city.
