A commemorative monument erected in AD 113 in Trajan's Forum to celebrate the emperor's victories over the Dacians. It is about 30 metres tall including the pedestal and is covered by a spiral relief of about 200 metres with nearly 2,500 figures. It was originally crowned by a statue of Trajan; today it is topped by St Peter. It can be seen from the Via dei Fori Imperiali.
