A church and monastery in Alfama, designed by Filippo Terzi in the late 16th century on the site of an earlier temple. Its late Renaissance façade has two towers and statues of saints. The monastery has cloisters with 18th-century azulejos showing scenes from La Fontaine’s fables, and the Pantheon of the Braganzas, where Portuguese kings rest.
