María Luisa Park
Seville's great park occupies the former gardens of the Palacio de San Telmo, which Infanta María Luisa de Orleans donated to the city in 1893. Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier redesigned it for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition, which left behind the Plaza de España, the Plaza de América and tiled glorietas dedicated to writers such as Bécquer and Cervantes. Its fountains, ponds and the Isleta de los Patos make it the green lung of the city centre.
