Theater des Westens
Theater des Westens is a historic theatre located at Kantstraße 10–12, in Berlin's Charlottenburg district. Opened in 1896 to a design by Bernhard Sehring, the building has been a key venue for opera, operetta and musicals. Over its history it has hosted performances by Enrico Caruso and the Ballets Russes with Anna Pavlova, and was the first venue in Germany to stage musicals, with 'My Fair Lady' in 1961. After the Second World War, it served as the temporary home of the Berlin municipal opera. Today, under the management of Stage Entertainment, it continues to stage musical productions and shows. The theatre was restored in 1978 and 2006, retaining its original façade and architectural features.
