Opera and ballet theatre inaugurated in 1895 by Emperor Franz Joseph, designed by the Viennese architects Fellner and Helmer. It is a neo-Baroque building with a yellow façade on Marshal Tito Square. In front of it stands the Well of Life, a sculpture by Ivan Meštrović. It is one of the city's most outstanding buildings.
