Functionalist monument on Vítkov Hill, in Žižkov, built between 1929 and 1932 to a design by Jan Zázvorka. In front rises the bronze equestrian statue of Jan Žižka, the Hussite leader who won a victory here in 1420, one of the largest equestrian statues in the world. The building houses National Museum exhibitions and a Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and from the hill you can see all of Prague.
