Michigan Avenue bascule bridge over the Chicago River, opened in 1920 and renamed in honour of Jean Baptiste Point du Sable, the Afro-Caribbean trader regarded as the area's first settler. The Riverwalk starts from here, the riverside promenade that runs past skyscrapers such as the Wrigley Building and the Tribune Tower, and from which architecture tour boats depart.
