Cathedral of Bogotá, on the Plaza de Bolívar. The current neoclassical building was erected between 1807 and 1823 to a design by Domingo de Petrés, on the site of earlier churches. Inside, in one of its side chapels, is the tomb of Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada, the founder of the city. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Bogotá and the primatial church of Colombia.
