Fine Arts Museum of Córdoba
The museum is in Plaza del Potro, in the former Hospital de la Caridad, a building declared a monument in 1962 whose parts were built between the 16th and 20th centuries. The collections were moved here from 23 November 1862. It shares the building with the Julio Romero de Torres Museum. The route tells the history of art in Córdoba from the 14th century to the present day, with sections on medieval and Renaissance art, Baroque art, a room of drawings and prints, and a mural painting on the staircase. Its works include La Virgen de los Plateros, by Valdés Leal; the Calvario de la Inquisición, by Antonio del Castillo, around 1649; San Nicolás de Bari, by Pedro de Córdoba; and Las tres edades de la mujer, by Mateo Inurria. In the catalogue of drawings there is a Samson and Delilah attributed to Ribera. Individual visits need no booking, only groups do.
