Tribute to the Mediterranean Fisherman
In Plaza del Remo, next to the La Carihuela promenade, stands this bronze sculpture by Aurelio Teno, unveiled in 1996. The figure depicts a fisherman in action, with details that evoke physical strength and the ancestral bond with the sea. The monument pays tribute to the fishermen of the Mediterranean and, in particular, to the sailors who died in the wreck of the fishing boat San Carlos, some of them residents of La Carihuela. Its location facing the sea lets you see it in changing light, especially at sunrise or sunset, and combine it with a stroll around the area.
