Cheonggyecheon Stream
NatureVisit: ~60 min
A stream that runs through the centre of Seoul and was covered by an elevated highway for decades. The city removed the road and restored the stream in 2005 as a public promenade, with paths on both sides, bridges and steps down to the water. It begins at Cheonggye Plaza, where Claes Oldenburg's sculpture "Spring" stands. People come down to walk beside the water, several metres below street level, away from the noise of traffic.
