Museum of the Forum of Caesaraugusta

CultureVisit: ~60 minFrom €4Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00-14:00 and 17:00-21:00. Sundays and public holidays,…

Beneath Plaza de la Seo, the museum preserves the foundations of the forum of Tiberius, built in the 1st century AD and the religious, civic, economic and political centre of ancient Caesaraugusta. The visit follows walkways above the ruins and includes remains of the Cloaca Máxima, the great drain of the Roman city, as well as the so-called Mosaic of the Muses. Models and scenography help you imagine what the complex was like, and several audiovisuals with subtitles in Spanish, English and French explain life in the forum. A lift serves all floors. It is part of the Ruta de Caesaraugusta, along with the Theatre, the Public Baths and the River Port, so a single combined ticket lets you see the four municipal archaeological museums. It is right in the historic centre, a few steps from La Seo and Plaza del Pilar.
