Château Borély
Château Borély is an 18th-century château in the Bonneveine district, within present-day Parc Borély in Marseille. It was built for Louis Borély, a wealthy Marseille merchant, and has been listed as a historic monument by the French Ministry of Culture since 1936. The three-storey building is flanked by two pavilions and has a large courtyard and a rear portico. Inside, the main building is filled with richly decorated rooms and includes an oval chapel on the first floor. After extensive restoration between 2009 and 2013, it reopened to the public on 15 June 2013 as home to the Musée des Arts décoratifs, de la Faïence et de la Mode, which holds collections of decorative arts, ceramics and fashion amid richly preserved original décor.
