Arcos da Lapa
CultureVisit: ~30 min
Former colonial aqueduct of stone arches built in the 18th century to bring water from the Santa Teresa hill to the centre of Rio. Today it is one of the city's emblems: the Santa Teresa tram runs over it and the Lapa district spreads out at its feet, known for its nightlife and its samba venues.
