Monument to the Revolution

CultureVisit: ~60 min

Large monument with a stone dome in the Plaza de la República. It began as a project for a legislative palace by the French architect Émile Bénard, and in the 1930s Carlos Obregón Santacilia turned it into a monument to the Mexican Revolution. In its pillars rest the remains of figures of the Revolution, such as Francisco I. Madero and Venustiano Carranza. A glass lift goes up to the viewpoint in the dome.
