CultureVisit: ~30 minFree
Jesuit church on the Plaza de Armas, built from 1571 on the palace of Amaru Kancha, the residence of the Inca Huayna Cápac. After the 1650 earthquake it was rebuilt with the Baroque façade seen today. It is said that its size prompted the bishop to protest because it rivalled the cathedral. Its gilded altarpiece and paintings stand out in the interior.
