MO Museum
The MO Museum opened its doors on 18 October 2018 on Pylimo Street, on the Old Town side of Vilnius. The building, of about 3,100 square metres and 17 metres in height, was designed by Studio Libeskind and the Lithuanian firm Do Architects, and occupies the site of the former Lietuva cinema, demolished in 2017. Its collection brings together more than 6,000 works of modern and contemporary Lithuanian art, with painting at its core and nearly 250 artists, as well as graphic art, photography, video art and sculpture. Inside, the most talked-about feature is the spiral staircase. The main exhibition hall is on the third floor; the first holds the foyer and the second a small room and a reading room. Next to the building there is a sculpture garden and a terrace with free access.
