Church of San Martín
Parish church of San Martín Obispo and San Antonio Abad, on Calle San Vicente Mártir, declared a Site of Cultural Interest. The building was erected in the 14th century, with the main works between 1372 and 1401, on the site of a former azucaque (a small market quarter) that the city council granted to the parish in 1372. It has a single nave with no transept and an irregular trapezoidal plan, shaped by the streets surrounding it. It combines Valencian Gothic with Baroque alterations and Renaissance elements, such as the vault and lantern of the presbytery, rebuilt in the 16th century. A fire damaged it in 1936. On the façade doorway is the bronze equestrian group of Saint Martin and the beggar, the church's best-known piece, which has returned to its niche after being removed several times for exhibitions. The joint dedication to both saints was made official in 1902.
