Metropolitan Cathedral
CultureVisit: ~60 min
The largest cathedral in the Americas, on the north side of the Zócalo, built between 1573 and 1813 with stone from the Mexica temples. It mixes Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical styles. Inside you can see the Altar of the Kings, the choir and a series of side chapels with altarpieces. The building is sinking into the soft ground and corrective works have been carried out.
