Remains of the main temple of Tenochtitlan, the Mexica capital, dedicated to Huitzilopochtli and Tlaloc. It lies next to the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Zócalo. The ruins were discovered in 1978, when electricity workers came across the Coyolxauhqui monolith. The site museum, opened in 1987, brings together the offerings and pieces found in the excavations.
