Main square of Mexico City and one of the largest in the world, built over the centre of ancient Tenochtitlan. It is surrounded by the Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Palace and government buildings. It hosts civic events, concerts and celebrations. In the centre rises a large flagpole with the enormous flag of Mexico.
