Zagreb Funicular
The Uspinjača links Tomićeva Street, in the Lower Town, with the Lotrščak Tower, in the Upper Town, and is the oldest organised public transport in Zagreb. It opened in 1890 and has kept its exterior, its construction and much of its original technology, which is why it is protected as a cultural monument. The track is 66 metres long, and the journey takes about 64 seconds at a speed of 1.5 metres per second. Each car carries 28 adults, 16 seated and 12 standing. A car leaves every ten minutes and you pay on board with the driver at the upper station or at the booth at the lower station. It is the most comfortable way to get up to Gradec without stairs, next to the Lotrščak Tower, which has its own entry.
