A large terrace on the hill above the Oltrarno, designed by Giuseppe Poggi and opened in 1869 when Florence was the capital of Italy. It offers the classic panorama of the city: the Duomo, the Palazzo Vecchio, the Ponte Vecchio and the Arno. In the centre stands a bronze copy of Michelangelo's David. You can walk up by the stairs from the river or take a bus.
