Confectioner's and tea room founded in 1894 on Rua Gonçalves Dias, in the centre of Rio. It preserves its belle époque decoration, with large bevelled glass mirrors, wooden frames and a stained-glass ceiling. It has been a symbol of the city's social life since the late 19th century and is known for its pastries and its afternoon coffee.
