Commemorative column in the centre of the roundabout on Paseo de la Reforma, inaugurated in 1910 for the centenary of independence. The project is by Antonio Rivas Mercado, and the golden winged Victory, in bronze, by Enrique Alciati, crowns the column. At the base is a mausoleum with the remains of heroes of independence. It is one of the city's symbols and a gathering point for celebrations.
