NatureVisit: ~60 minFreeOpening hours: Ermita de San Isidro: domingos de 11:00 a 13:00

Los Pedregales Park, also known as San Isidro Labrador Park, extends over 30 hectares at 150 metres above sea level in the first foothills of Sierra Bermeja, about 5 km from the town centre of Estepona. Its stony terrain, with abundant peridotites and serpentines, forms a distinctive landscape crossed by a network of inner paths. In the park are the Hermitage of San Isidro, built in 1989 and open on Sundays from 11:00 to 13:00, and the Corominas Prehistoric Necropolis, an underground museum displaying five original dolmens of around 3,000 BC, along with ceramic vessels, stone tools, arrowheads, axes and personal ornaments; guided tours last half an hour and cost €3 per person (minimum 5), by prior phone appointment. The park has a children's play area with a zip line, a barbecue area, picnic tables, drinking water, parking, petanque courts, a dovecote and a café-restaurant at the entrance. You can stay in wooden cabins for four to eight people, with air conditioning, free wifi, a kitchen with fridge and a bathroom with shower, and campers have use of a swimming pool. The northern outskirts are suitable for mountain biking, horse riding routes and hiking, with pools formed by rivers and streams. Every first Sunday of May the romería in honour of San Isidro Labrador, patron saint of farmers, is held, bringing together hundreds of people in decorated carts or on foot.
