The Neo Faliro Velodrome was a sports ground located in the Neo Faliro district, in Piraeus, where the cycling events of the 1896 Olympic Games were held. The land was ceded by the Athens-Piraeus railway company to the Hellenic Olympic Committee and later became the home of the football clubs Ethnikos Piraeus and Olympiacos CFP. The ground was enlarged in 1964 and renamed Georgios Karaiskakis, in honour of a Greek military commander who died near the stadium.
