Promenadenring
The Promenadenring in Leipzig is a 3.6-kilometre green belt encircling the historic centre, created from the city's former fortifications and transformed since the 18th century into a series of parks and tree-lined avenues. Visitors can explore areas such as the Unterer Park (Müller-Anlage) opposite the main station, the Oberer Park with the Schwanenteich, Augustusplatz, the Lenné-Anlage and Schillerpark, and find numerous monuments dedicated to local figures, such as the bust of Richard Wagner and the monument to Robert Schumann. Along the promenade, benches and paths invite you to walk beneath rows of lime and plane trees, while areas such as the Lenné-Anlage offer views of the town hall and several historic memorials.
