Jacquemart-André Museum
A mansion at 158 Boulevard Haussmann, in the 8th arrondissement, built between 1869 and 1875 by the architect Henri Parent for the banker Édouard André and the painter Nélie Jacquemart. The couple assembled a large collection, above all of Italian Renaissance art, and after Nélie's death in 1912 she bequeathed the house and its works to the Institut de France; it opened as a museum in 1913. Visitors can see the state apartments with French painting and 18th-century decorative arts, the informal apartments, the winter garden, the Italian museum and the private apartments. Among the works are Paolo Uccello's Saint George and the Dragon, pieces by Botticelli and Mantegna, and sculptures by Donatello and Luca della Robbia. There are also works by Rembrandt, Van Dyck and Fragonard. It is now run by Culturespaces.
