The Church of Saint-Roch in Paris is notable for its 18th-century chapels, decorated with Baroque murals, sculptures and elaborate architectural details, which visitors can explore to appreciate the religious art of the period. Inside, it preserves works by artists such as Étienne Maurice Falconet and Jean-Baptiste Pierre, as well as a chapel dedicated to the Virgin with a painted dome and a Calvary chapel converted into a catechism chapel. The church's façade still bears the marks of fighting from the French Revolution, particularly the 13 Vendémiaire episode, when Napoleon Bonaparte dispersed royalist forces with artillery in front of its steps.
