The third point of the Art Triangle occupies the Palacio de Villahermosa, opposite the Neptune Fountain. It grew out of the private collection of the Thyssen-Bornemisza barons, acquired by the Spanish state in 1993, and spans eight centuries of European painting: Italian primitives, Dürer, Caravaggio, Impressionists, German Expressionists and Pop Art, with works by Van Gogh, Hopper and Lichtenstein not found in any other Spanish museum.
