Aguas Blancas River
The Aguas Blancas River is a stretch of river in the province of Granada that rises on the slopes of Cerro Carcabal, above Tocón de Quéntar, and flows into the Quéntar reservoir. Its easy access, the many mountain springs, the large pools for bathing and the recreation areas have made it one of the busiest river stretches in Granada. The water is especially clear, filtered through heavily wooded dolomitic mountains. Along its course it passes through Quéntar and Dúdar, and the road linking Quéntar with Tocón runs alongside the valley. The surroundings combine pastures and aromatic scrub, small holm oaks, stands of maritime and Aleppo pine, and fields of cereals, almonds, olives and vines.
